The best way to know what it's like to be a student at Connecticut School of Broadcasting is to join us for a Studio Tour! Don’ t expect to be inundated with pamphlets to read while frantically trying to take notes from an overzealous speaker who thinks 2 hours of Q&A is still not enough time to teach you what our school is all about. You see, at Connecticut School of Broadcasting, we believe in learning by doing. Not just in our classrooms, but from the very start at our Studio Tours.
From the moment you enter a Campus Studio Tour, you’ll be led right into our state of the art Television studio with a small group of people that have similar interests. You’ll be able to check out all the professional equipment that you’d find at local and national network TV stations. From studio cameras and lighting to Avid and Final Cut Pro editing software, you’ll be up close and personal with the best. Don’t get too comfortable though because it might be your turn next to Anchor, Report or be a Sportscaster on CSB News, where you’ll get a chance to read headlines off of a teleprompter! Is radio more your thing? Whether you’re into News, Sports, Talk, want to DJ or produce and run the board, the next part of the tour includes a trip to the radio studio. Here you’ll have the opportunity to sit behind the microphone and do sample reads and get some feedback from industry pros!
When your tour is complete, feel free to ask questions of any of our instructors or staff, many of whom are the personalities you see and hear locally on your favorite Radio and TV stations, or are behind the scenes making them look and sound good! Whether you are looking to be in front of the camera, behind the mic, behind the scenes or on the field, court or rink doing play-by-play, Connecticut School of Broadcasting will give you the hands-on training you need to start working in the broadcasting industry in months not years!
