Admissions

The admissions process has several steps which have been carefully designed by curriculum and industry experts to best identify those students with the potential to be a success in broadcasting.

Please note: we are facing another year of historically high numbers of applications. Class size, however, is intentionally small to ensure a quality learning and training experience. NO late enrollments will be accepted and those students who submit applications past the deadline will not be allowed to attend class that trimester.

As these steps usually take several weeks to complete, and class size is very limited, interested applicants are encouraged to begin this process as quickly as possible. This will ensure that prospective students do not miss out on the class start date.

Prospective Students are Required to Complete the Following:

1. To get started, request an admissions interview at the CSB campus of your choice. The campus director and staff will discuss your career dreams and aspirations and answer your questions about any and all topics. As well, they will walk you through a studio tour of the campus. This will be your opportunity to understand the software and equipment that will be used for your education.

2. You may be asked to read a script in front of a radio microphone and/or read from a TV teleprompter to demonstrate your passion and potential. While CSB is not looking for polish and expertise, this process does help the director and instructors best understand your aptitude for the program and your future in broadcasting.

3. The CSB Enrollment Committee will convene to discuss your candidacy for being a student at CSB. In this private meeting the committee leader and members will review interview notes and observations made by the Campus Director and staff. Such review process is informed by strict criteria developed from the latest standards in TV and radio broadcasting industry.

4. You will be informed of the Enrollment Committee’s decision. If you are not accepted, you may re-apply the following trimester, provided you’ve incorporated the feedback from the Enrollment Committee. If you are accepted for the current trimester, you’ll proceed to step five.

5. Completing the enrollment paperwork, including any necessary board of education documents and financial assistance forms, concludes the Admissions Process. There is a $50 administrative fee for processing this paperwork.

Your Campus Director can assist with streamlining your enrollment process, answering questions, arranging financing packages, and more.

Right from the start, I could see that CSB School of Broadcasting had amazing equipment and that the instructors were so helpful. Walking into CSB School of Broadcasting is kind of like walking into a network TV or radio station.
